• 2011/10: Achimer Förderpreis für Bildende Kunst 2011 geht an "Baku"And the winner (of the Achimer art award ) is..."Baku"


    Quite unexpected I was given 2011/10/2 an art award of the Kunstverein Achim e.V. nearby Bremen, the future cultural capital of northwest Germany (-: 1500€ and a solo exhibition in 2012 are just some of its benefits. Networks and fame the others. No I am serious: as I was the only guy working with photography, documentary photography on the top (which in these context usually isn’t perceived to be art in our German art szene) I was betting that anybody else but not me would win. So: this grant is good not only for me but also for all the other fellow stuents of University of Arts or other institutions where conceptional photography is being taught: it’s a further step in establishing artistically photographed documentations in the fine art sector.

  • Baku-Buch wird Mitte November gedruckt****The Baku book will be printed mid of November

    In the meanwhile there are 253 books ordered. So I will print it mid of November. Thanks to the Bookfair Frankfurt I found great distributions possibilities. I guess that from De onwards the book will be available in at least German bookstores if not even all EU bookstores by its ISBN number. Until that time the 26,10 € price is still valid, at least some 47 copies more.

    I think that all subscribers will get their copy by mail until the end of November. For the payment methods I will email in time!

    Thanks to the support of some (mainly) photo blogs I have gathered the necessary sum of people to slowly start the print process. Next week there will be the inevitable press proof and then – hopefully – by the endof october the book will be ready printed… The subscription offer of 26,10 Euro will be valid until the book is in officially available or until the 300th copy has been ordered.

    At this point: thanks again for all the poeple that have pre-ordeed a copy for their patiance and interest!

    A bit confusing but true: even though there are already 188 pre-orders there are only 134 subscribers of which only 131 want to be mentioned in the book. In other words: untill mid of September there´s still the chance for 19 more people to be mentioned and there are 112 books to be pre-orderes for 26,10 € instead of 34,80 €, not including the shipping costs!
    It seems as if we would start printing at the end of September – in this case I would draw the concrete slip cases also in the case there will be only 240 pre-ordered books – but then only 8 instead of 10 slip cases: in average per 30 books one slip case is the calculation.
